Regular Activities at the Guildhall Arts Centre
We’ve got a great range of workshops here at the Guildhall to suit all ages and tastes. Whether you want to learn a new skill, practise existing skills with like-minded people, get together socially over a common interest or cause just have some fun -we’ve got it covered!
To join, all you need to do is show up at the start of the class you’re interested in and register. For more information on any workshop, contact the Box Office: 01476 406158.
Alternatively, you can have a chat with the workshop leader and sit in for a week to see if it’s the class for you.

First Notes
With SoundLINCS
Mondays in term time
10.30am – 11.30am
2 – 5yrs £2.00 per child
This workshop is taken by SoundLINCS – Lincolnshire’s Music Development Agency and involves both children and parents/carers. The aim of the workshop is to build skills and confidence in music making.
This fun activity gives children, between the ages of two and five, the opportunity to be involved in active learning where they will be introduced to different instruments and have the chance to explore rhythm and dynamics.

Mondays
Have you been inspired by ‘Strictly Come Dancing’? Or is your dancing ‘strictly boring’and in need of some pizzazz?
Learning to dance is a great way for all ages to get into shape, build confidence and have fun! From beginners to advanced, ballroom to sequence, we’ll develop your dancing skills in one of our weekly classes. Junior dancers get the opportunity to take exams

All you need is your instrument and a music stand to join this dedicated and friendly group of amateur musicians who meet to enjoy the experience of playing in an orchestra.
The emphasis on the group is very much on fun!
Youth Drama

Children get the chance to learn basic drama skills and how to share ideas and work together. The group performs at regular intervals. The 1 to 13 group of aspiring young actors can work on the skills needed to polish their performing abilities. The 14 + is an enthusiastic group who practise their improvisation skills and work on set texts for performances.
Readers’ Group
Meets second Wednesday of the month
7.30pm
£1.00 per session
Are you, like many people, someone who enjoys reading and because you do it alone at home, feel frustrated because there’s no one to discuss it with?
Then join our Reader’s Group and you’ll get the chance to enthuse, gush and rant about a variety of texts with like-minded people.

Zumba Fitness
Tuesdays
6.00pm to 6.50pm
This Latin-inspired, easy-to follow dance / fitness class allows you to get fit and enjoy yourself while you’re doing it. It’s an aerobic workout but much more fun, helping you stick with the program until you get results. So ditch the workout and join the party!

Weight Watchers
Meet every Monday from 9.45am and 12.15pm and every Wednesday from 6.00pm

Pilates

Pilates focuses on the core postural muscles which help keep the body balanced and which are essential to providing support for the spine. In particular, Pilates exercises teach awareness of breath and alignment of the spine and aim to strengthen the deep torso muscles.

Grantham Writers
Third Monday of the Month, 7.30pm to 9.30pm
Based in Studio 4 at the Guildhall, this friendly and supportive group is open to adults who find it helpeful to discuss their manuscripts with other writers. New members can turn up on any third Monday of the month to meet the group and find out more about what goes on. Occasional guest speakers are arranged and the group also has links with the Poetry Group and the Novelist’s Group.
