Regular Workshops at the Guildhall Arts Centre
We’ve got a great range of workshops here at the Guildhall to suit all ages and tastes. Whether you want to learn a new skill, practise existing skills with like-minded people, get together socially over a common interest or just have some fun -we’ve got it covered!
To join, all you need to do is show up at the start of the class you’re interested in and register. For more information on any workshop, contact the Box Office: 01476 406158.

First Notes
With SoundLINCS
Mondays in term time
10.30am – 11.30am
2 – 5yrs £0.50 per child
This workshop is taken by SoundLINCS – Lincolnshire’s Music Development Agency and involves both children and parents/carers. The aim of the workshop is to build skills and confidence in music making.
This fun activity gives children, between the ages of two and five, the opportunity to be involved in active learning where they will be introduced to different instruments and have the chance to explore rhythm and dynamics.
Ballroom Dancing
With Ann Gibbons Dance
Monday 19 April to Monday 12 July
Juniors – 7 to 16 yrs
6.00pm to 6.45pm
Learn to dance a range of Ballroom and Latin dances including the Waltz, Quickstep, Cha Cha Cha and Jive in this fun and friendly workshop. There is also the opportunity to take your skills further in Ballroom Dancing exams.
£3.50
Sequence Dancing
7.00pm to 7.30m
This new class is open to all levels, from the novice to the more experienced dancer. We’ll be covering popular dances in the classical, standard ballroom and Latin American style. This is your chance to socialise and meet new people in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere – and don’t worry if you don’t have a partner.

Intermediate Course
7.00pm to 8.15pm
For those who have mastered the Ballroom and Latin basics, this class helps you work on your floor-craft and develops your dancing skills further. We also introduce the Viennese Waltz and add new figures to dances you already know. There will be a 15mins troubleshooting session at the end of the class so you can ask questions and work through any issues you may have.
£38.50 for half a term or £6.00 per session.
Adult Improvers
8.00pm to 9.15pm
This class continues to increase your confidence on the dance floor in Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Paso, Cha Cha Cha and Jive and introduces you to Samba, Rumba and the Viennese Waltz. If you are returning to dance after a break, this is the perfect class to refresh your memory. There will be a 15mins troubleshooting session at the beginning of the class so you can ask questions and work through any issues you may have.
£38.50 for half a term or £6.00 per session.
Youth Dance
With Lincolnshire Dance Agency
8 – 11years
Thursdays from 4.30pm – 5.30pm
12 – 16 years
Thursdays from 5.30pm – 6.30pm
£2.50 per session
This is a brilliant opportunity for young people to get creative and get moving. Energy and enthusiasm is all that’s required. Techniques will be taught in various styles of dance concentrating on jazz and street dance.
Occasional Orchestra Workshops
Meets first Saturday of every month
From 9.30am to 12.30pm
£7.00
All you need is your instrument and a music stand to join this dedicated and friendly group of amateur musicians who meet to enjoy the experience of playing in an orchestra.
The emphasis on the group is very much on fun!
Youth Drama

14 + years
Thursdays from 7.00pm – 9.00pm
£3.50 per session
Children get the chance to learn basic drama skills and how to share ideas and work together. The group performs at regular intervals. The 1 to 13 group of aspiring young actors can work on the skills needed to polish their performing abilities. The 14 + is an enthusiastic group who practise their improvisation skills and work on set texts for performances.
Readers’ Group
Meets second Tuesday of the month

Are you, like many people, someone who enjoys reading and because you do it alone at home, feel frustrated because there’s no one to discuss it with?
Then join our Reader’s Group and you’ll get the chance to enthuse, gush and rant about a variety of texts with like-minded people.
