WOOLSTHORPE MANOR
ALSO THURS 22 AND FRI 23 SEPT 9.45AM TO 12 NOON
It's the long hot summer of 1665 and the Plague has driven many out of the cities. A young Isaac Newton is one of those seeking the safety of his home at Woolsthorpe.....All is not safe, however, as plague victims begin to spread like the fleas and rats that spread the disease itself. Experience the Plague up close and dangerous. Wash your hands and cover your mouth as the poor sickening wretches of London will be coughing and spluttering through Woolsthorpe Manor. Meet the body collectors, the Charlatan Quacks with bird masks. Is that just a spot or something a little nastier? A dreaded bubo! Re-live the plague as it happened and learn first hand what those times were like from experts and actors in role. Plague Days is presented by Greenwich and Lewisham Young People#s Theatre with a local cast. Originally commissioned by the National Maritime Museum alongside the 2015 Samuel Pepys Exhibition.
