South Lincolnshire has a proud aviation heritage, from WWI through WWII, into the Cold War and to the present day; all celebrated with a full RAF100 programme of local events during 2018.
Now, as a rousing finale, South Kesteven District Council is staging a fund-raising concert in Grantham featuring the Band of the RAF College.
2018 has seen band musicians playing all over the world, including the nation's RAF tribute on The Mall in July and the Royal Edinburgh Tattoo.
They will be joined by the Cranwell Military Wives Choir, singing songs from the newly released CD 'Remember' for an evening of nostalgia and celebration of aviation heritage.
The Band is playing by permission of the Air Force Board of the Defence Council and all proceeds from the evening will go to the RAF Benevolent Fund and the RAF Association.
It will be a fitting tribute to the district’s illustrious heritage and tribute to those who lost their lives, from the early days of the Royal Flying Corps to the iconic Dambusters’ Raid of 1943, D-Day, Arnhem and countless other allied efforts.
The RAF100 Concert will have a bar in the church. Premium tickets to the front of the church cost £20 and regular tickets £15.
