The Guildhall in Grantham is a unique Victorian, Grade II listed building, situated on St Peter’s Hill Green in the town centre.

Formerly the town’s sessions hall and civic centre, the Guildhall boasts an impressive main entrance with a sweeping staircase, leading up to the grand ballroom—the perfect setting in which to receive your guests.

The Guildhall’s imposing clock tower dominates St Peter’s Hill and its central location make it easy to get to and easy to find and our friendly staff, excellent transport links and parking close-by make it an excellent choice for your wedding venue.

The Ballroom

If you want to make an impression on your big day, then look no further than the Guildhall’s fabulous  Ballroom.

This impressive, versatile room has hosted many great occasions during its 145-year history and can be set up to suit your needs, seating up to 120 guests for a civil ceremony and reception dinner and up to 180 for a party.

With a small stage, sprung dance floor, licensed  bar, professional kitchen, sound and lighting equipment and lift access, The Ballroom has everything you need in one neat package.  In addition, to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible,  one of our Events Managers will be on hand throughout the day to assist you.

The Newton Room

The Newton Room is a beautiful lit, contemporary space which lends itself perfectly to a more intimate ceremony. If you choose to have your ceremony here, you and your guests can then move on to the ballroom for your reception and party.

This room has the capacity to hold up to 60 ceremony guests.

Food and Beverage

The Guildhall Coffee House offers a variety of platters – from wedding banquet buffets to finger food – and home-made cakes which are prepared on site from locally sourced produce.

For a hot sit-down meal, you can bring-in a certified caterer of your choice and hire the function kitchen adjoining The Ballroom.  This ensures your food is prepared in-house and served with easy access to your guests.  The Ballroom also has a licensed bar to serve you and your guests throughout the day.


Ballroom receptions must conclude by midnight on the day of your hire, all hiring parties will gain access to the space from 9.30am on the day of the event.

The ceremony and reception package includes; Newton Room ceremony for up to 60 seated guests or Ballroom ceremony for up to 180 guests (room must be vacated following the ceremony to allow the in-house event team to set up your reception); Ballroom reception for up to 180 guests at evening party; use of tablecloths, mirror plates and glass bowls (for your own arrangement) and catering kitchen for use by certified caterers.
