St. Peter’s Hill Players present “Arsenic and Old Lace” by Joseph Kesselring

Mortimer Brewster has just got engaged and visits his aunts to share the news.

He’s always known his family were a bit eccentric – for example, his eldest brother believes himself to be Teddy Roosevelt – but things take a farcical turn when he discovers his sweet Aunts have found a new sideline, one that compromises his integrity… And, when Mortimer’s maniacal brother Jonathan (who coincidently resembles Boris Karloff) returns with ‘a new friend,’ Mortimer tries to keep things as normal as he can, whilst fighting a losing battle with his own sanity!

Joseph Kesselring weaves a darkly comedic and suspenseful narrative that continues to enthral audiences with its macabre charm, inviting the viewer to embrace the darker side of humour, humanity and maybe their own sanity.
