The Grantham Singers present a semi-staged production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance. Frederic, an apprentice pirate indentured until his 21st birthday, falls in love with Mabel, the daughter of Major-General Stanley. Throw into the mix, the rest of Mabel’s sisters, some swashbuckling pirates and blundering policemen for a show packed with memorable songs including Poor wand’ring one, I am the very model of a modern Major General and When a felon’s not engaged in his employment .
